People with Questions

A link to my post about the '08 candidates led me to the Six Questions Blog. The blogger, Linda has sent six questions to the presidential hopefuls of both parties. I will be anxious to see if she gets answers and if the candidates respond, what they will say. I really like question number 5

"This country requires alternative sources of energy.
  1. a. Are you willing to ask the American people to make major lifestyle changes (for example, give up the suburban life of big box stores and malls where the only way to get to anything is to drive a car) in order to ease the transition from a fossil fuel based energy system?
    b. Are you willing to speak honestly to the American people about what it would take to move to alternative energy at no matter the costs to your political career?"
This is also something I am looking to find in a president, honesty in addressing the American people about the problems that confront this nation and a willingness to ask them to make the sacrifices it will take to solve the problems. Too many politicians promise us that the government will fix everything for us. Of course this is impossible. What we need is a leader who will encourage us to work together in solving our problems. We need honest leadership not empty promises.

I love your blog...what a find...I stumbled your way from Cosmic Messenger's Blog- and I saw in the comments that you are in Cleveland...I presently live in Ohio too...

I love this about the candiates..and asking Questions...

Obama actually has a "Dinner for 5", every few weeks, he gets together wit 4 "winners" ( thinkers) and has dinner and talks and listens to questions.....I think it is really interesting that he does this...the Edwards actually have a Blog and you can dialogue with them- or atleast used to be able to- it is harder now...but anyways my point is that FINALLY some real Candiates are recognizing the need to Talk with the REAL People.....not lobbyists..

Keep Blogging it- and if Blogger will let me I am going to add you to the Blogroll....Come to Watergate Summer and have a visit....
