Darfur, we need to act!

It looks like our government might finally take a strong stand against the genocide taking place in Sudan’s Darfur region. It’s hard to believe that we hear so little about this situation when it is a humanitarian crisis almost beyond imagination. Some of our senators have finally introduced a bill to push the UN and the international community to act. I’m proud that one of our Ohio Senators, Mike DeWine is a cosponsor of the bill.

S. 495 calls on the U.S. to support the expansion of the African peacekeeping force, to take legal actions against the government of Sudan and perpetrators of the crimes, and to insist that the Sudanese Government allow humanitarian workers and monitors in Darfur

I am so glad someone else is thinking and posting about the genocide in Darfur. I've done everything I can think of to do, though I'm sure there is more that I haven't thought of.

Be well,
YL
