A Department of Peace

Dennis Kucinich doesn't give up easily. He has introduced HR 808 to establish a U.S. Department of Peace. Kristi Meisendback Boylan does a great job of explaining why we need one and encouraging us to write our representatives to gain support for it. I plan to send off an e-mail to Ralph Regula urging his support, not that it will make any difference. He never represents my opinion; he is not MY representative. I am grateful to the people who elected Dennis Kucinich for giving those of us seeking peace such a determined voice in the People's House.

"Dennis Kucinich has decided to skip New Hampshire till this summer. He polled his supporters and both of them agreed it was the right thing to do" ... from the Progressive Magazine.

Seriously, this statement shows the type of apathy Dennis faces in launching his bid for the Presidency.

I've always loved his concept for a "Peace Department" but he needs a woman on the ticket like Barbara Boxer who was one of the few Congress persons opposed going to war in Iraq.

This would give him broader credibility across America and win the support of many women voters and their spouses or significant others.

Peace,
Cosmic

I agree that Barbara Boxer would make a great VP. I find it hard to vote for any member of Congress who supported going to war in Iraq. Congress, has not done its job. There are only a few members who raised questions from the start and have continued to demand answers from the Bush administration about our foreign policy.
